WUMS App 3.0.5: clear messages, reviewed security, a new connection
Version 3.0.5 has been in the Apple App Store and on Google Play since 22 September. It makes the app clearer in daily use — and brings it up to date technically.
Messages that help
When something does not work, the app now says in plain words what is going on and what to do: no internet connection, session expired, the server is not answering right now — or exactly the message the server itself sends. Anyone standing in a dead spot sees it immediately instead of guessing.
Quicker through the inspection
On the number plate and the ATG code, “Next” now sits in the bar above the numeric keyboard as soon as something is entered. One tap instead of two — with twenty vehicles a day that adds up.
Reviewed security
The app was examined by external testers and reworked along their recommendations. Signing out clears the device reliably: credentials and files of a finished session are removed, running uploads are ended cleanly, and every time the app is reopened it checks whether the session is still valid. Nothing is left behind on a company phone that is handed on or lost.
A new, protected connection
From this version the app talks over a new server address with a web application firewall in front of it — the same protection the WUMS portal uses. Nothing changes for you: older app versions keep working unchanged and no cut-off date is needed. If the firewall ever turns content away, the app tells you on the spot instead of leaving it there without a word.
Also
- Inspection sticker: the year list starts at last year, so an overdue sticker can be entered as well.
- Mail with the inspection photos: sent by the server since 17 September, so it reaches the site regardless of who is stored there as the contact.
- Several improvements to speed and stability behind the scenes.
Please install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
