WUMS App 3.0.10: photos no longer interrupt the inspection
Version 3.0.10 has been in the Apple App Store and on Google Play since 9 October. It also carries the changes from 3.0.9 of the day before.
Photos no longer interrupt the inspection
Damage photos, photos on a comment and the photos on the order confirmation used to open the phone's camera app. On the Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro — around two thirds of the Android devices in use — Android shut the WUMS App down while that happened: after the photo the app restarted and the inspection in progress was gone. On private devices it does not occur, which is why it took a while to pin down.
Since 3.0.9 every photo is taken inside the app. The app stays in the foreground, the inspection stays where it was. Switching away in between — a call, the screen lock — is covered too: the camera is released when you leave and started again when you come back.
“The vehicle inspection was carried out N days ago”
This notice used the very first inspection of a vehicle instead of the latest one. On vehicles with a longer history it therefore said “9 days ago” although the vehicle had been inspected the same day. It now counts from the last inspection.
Fewer crashes
- Android: on some devices the app crashed right at start-up because the notification icon was missing. The attempt in 3.0.8 was not enough; the icon now sits where every device installs it.
- If the session had expired, the app crashed when coming back from the background. Without a session the ticket lists now simply return nothing and the app takes you to the login.
What arrived in the weeks before
- 3.0.8 — the inspection without a connection becomes complete, damages included.
- 3.0.6 — an inspection without a connection stays on the device and is sent later.
- 3.0.5 — clear messages, reviewed security, a new connection.
Please install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. The app points out a new version on start-up.
